In this article, the design of theological education in the Philippines was explained by giving the church's identity, mission, and reality; rather than with an analysis of the nature of theological inquiry or a professional vision of seminary. Theological education in a seminary context is a dimension of the broader educational ministry of the church and denominations. For this reason, in this article a determined effort was made to emphasize the present situation of theological education in the Philippines as perceived by theological educators and necessary recommendations to mend the present conditions were given. The theology and practice of theological education in the Philippines find their roots in the nature, purpose, and the contextual reality of the church. Therefore, this practical method supported the fundamental importance of theological education in the context of poverty and oppression.
