This article deals with the functional meaning of a Korean particle majeo by investigating the entailment of the context in corpus. Majeo is well known as one of the auxiliary particles which is called 'limitative particle' like jocha and kkaji. Among these articles majeo has been said it's functional meaning is 'the last'. Analyzing the corpus examples, We focused 'the entailment of the sister members at the sentence' containing majeo. The former researchers mentioned the sentence containing majeo can be interpreted as only two types of entailments. As a result of this research, it is shown that this particle can imply more than two varieties of entailments in a sentence unlike the former studies. In the previous studies, the number of researchers pointed out the functional meaning of majeo is related to the expectation of speaker, but it is proven not to be so by the research for the examples in corpus. Furthermore, when majeo is used in sentences, it can add not only negative meanings but also positive meanings to the sentences. This doesn't correspond to a couple of previous studies which have argued the functional meaning of majeo is 'negative directivity'. Although majeo mainly expresses an extreme 'negative directivity' in the sentences, it can also add an extreme 'positive directivity' in the sentences. In other words, we can say majeo is able to emphasize the situational meaning of sentences by representing the functional meaning of 'extremeness', and it can create 'the negative directivity' or 'the positive directivity' of the sentences.
