Island Tourism has the unique character: small scale, isolation from mainland and frail economy system. Although Island Tourism should be studied according to this perspectives, studies related island haven’t been applied a appropriate approach about insular tourism. In this context, this study indicated four dimensions on Island Tourism using systemic and integrated approach and built the theoretical structural model for island destination management. First dimension of the model is the sustainability on island community, second is a protecting and conserving insular ecosystem, third dimension is a visitor-based approach with guaranteeing their satisfaction and quality of experience. Last one emphasize that island destination management should take a strategies on improvement its competitiveness.
Since the model is built in the integrated way applying in the social exchange theory, valuables extracted from literature study and the suggested hypothetical model are verified. And island destination management indexes are calculated through the SAS statistical technique. As a result, the overall island management level of Okinawa(4.36408) was little higher than it of Bali(4.3521) or Jeju(4.3201).
