There are a number of Korean modern novels about Japanese-Korean marriage in Japanese Imperial period. For examples, Binsurang's Ilmiin by Lee In Jik, Azami`s Chapter by Lee Hyoe Suck, Namchungso by Yeom Sang Sub, ect, Those had been represented Japanese women as a foreigner-lover or wife for the Korean man. Japanese women had been represented not legal wives in a document. Cho-sun man had treated Japanese wife or girl friend as a sexual persona, and Korean traditional woman as an important labor in the family. There are more gender problems than racial or cultural, or difficulty of communication in international marriages. Japanese colonialist had persisted Japanese-Korean marriage in Japanese Imperial period as a kind of assimilation polices. Korean novels had shown us that was wrong. Because they are not arrived legal marriages in document and they had not been constructed happy families. There had been an hierarchy Korean man as an half opened being, Japanese woman as a modernized being, Korean woman as an savagery being. But Korean man was an injurer, Korean and Japanese women were victims. The innovative gist of the representations about Japanese women as a foreigner-lover or wife for the Korean man in Korean modern novels in Japanese Imperial period lies in the discovery of gendered modernity problem are more important thing in Japanese Imperialism as a nationalism.
