Hagiwara-Sakutaro(1886-1942) have many works about spring than another seasons.
First, I analysed a special character of Hagiwara-Sakutaro's spring poetry and an important images of it in works about spring.
Hagiwara-Sakutaro's spring poetry is divided into an aspect of an aspiration and a gloom in a large way.
Aspiration is also divided into something coming from a season and something coming from a new civilized world.. The reasons of a gloom are something coming from consciousness, something coming from sickness and something coming from the loss of a love.
Hagiwara-Sakutaro lectured on poetics in the Art University of Japanese while creating.
Then, there was Kim Choon Soo(1922-2004) in his students.
Kim Choon Soo is looking back that he remembers Hagiwara-Sakutaro as his respecting teacher in 'a Flower and a Fox' which is published on 1997.
Kim Choon Soo is well known a representative poet of Korea from 1950's to now.
He is famous for a prolific poet. He also wrote many poetry about spring.
So I will analyse Kim Choon Soo's poetry about spring, and I try to comparative study that each of they express the spring of their fatherland.
I chose 'Cloud and Rose'(August 1948), 'Swamp'(March 1950) and 'The 1st collection of poems'(March 1954) in Kim Choon Soo's collection of poems, and I adopted spring poetry in them as the object of my study.
He expresses 'the joy of a archetypal new season' as 'a season of myth', and he made a poem with a Korean beautiful wild flowers which are a forsythia, an azalea, a dandelion, and a wind-flower, etc.
And He also expresses 'a cloud' as a 'cloud like a flower'.
He describe the earth and a blue sky full of spring scenery purely and cleanly.
The other side, there are mental pains here and there with a colonial age in most of his works.
Hagiwara-Sakutaro's spring poetry describes his emotion freely, on the contrary, Kim Choon Soo's spring poetry describes an anxiety, a grief, and a dispair.
So, I try to comparative study Hagiwara-Sakutaro's spring poetry and Kim ChoSoo's spring poetry.
