Dir, Gang's film are entertainment film which is made by the consciousness of evalution that the film msut create entretainments.
This thesis will be studied dir, Gang's film spirit to pursued the aethetic of popular film by his popular film's consciousness. The series of 〈Two Cops 투캅스〉 makes him Korean master director and he makes continuously 〈Public Enemy 공공의 적〉 on the basis of (Two Cops) series. Now I will discuss dir. Gang's consciousness of popular film through analynizing of (Two Cops) and 〈(Publc Enemy〉.
〈Two Cops〉 is newage film which wipe out negative elements of Korean comedy film. This film is reflected the consciousness of newage and also the film emphasises eventic episodes. This happening film is a kind of alternative film against Hollywood Film.
His film world is seperated three part. The first time shows the character of social satrical comedy Which are related to Chaplin's film. On the second time 00. Gang creates the typical pattern of Korean cop's negative image by comedy style. As the result he reveals social problems to the audience. the last is mature film which are 〈Public Enemy〉 and (Island of Silmi 실미도〉.
Dir, Gang' s films only give pleasures but expressing of social ironical problems through variously creating laugh. In this point dir. Gang admitted Korean unique director star. Now, His film life is progressing forword.
