We're going to look at Korean female artists' works with a feminist point of view by studying the femininity in their works. We can also think about how artists in later ages have been inspired by their paintings and how the works have affected feminist art. Like this, the three artists that were mentioned are very different from each other. Rah Hae-seok worked as a feminist rather than an artist and expressed feminism in her paintings, while Park Rae-hyeon and Cheon Kyeong-ja worked as artists, and they tried to reveal essentialism. However, all of them tried to see the world through the eyes of a woman and expressed true femininity in a new way. They also greatly influenced female artists in later ages.
Femininity in various female artists' works reflects their effort and identity to overcome their situation about obeying or disobeying men's superiority. The femininity also represents historical, social and cultural ideas and requests on women in the modern age. Therefore, we have studied art works of the female artists in the feminist way by analyzing the femininity in them. According to the research, we could have a new chance to think about how they contributed to develop feminist art. We may get closer to the feminist theory and the basic goal of feminist study on art through this treatise. We can understand how many paintings have been painted by female artists from the past to the present, and how the female artists have invented a new language for this kind of art and created a new way of expressing feminist art.
