The current study was conducted in order to see the influence of weight training on physical composition, bone mineral density and female hormones of women before and after menopause. And the exercise programs applied were 8 items with 1RM 60% strength, and changes in physical composition, bone density and female hormones were examined by conducted the programs. Subjects of the current study were 16 female members and the test was conducted by dividing the subjects into two groups of before-menopause group and after-menopause group for eight weeks. The followings are the study results. First of all, as for changes body fat was meaningfully lower after exercise than before exercise in the after-menopause group(p<.01). With respect to changes in body fat, both the before-menopause group (p<.05) and the after-menopause group (p<.001) showed meaningfully lower fat after exercise and changes in WHR, the after-menopause group was meaningfully lower after exercise than before exercise(p<.01). Secondly, concerning changes in bone density, T-score was meaningfully lower in the after-menopause group than the before-menopause group before exercise(p<.05).
Thirdly, it was found that estrogen was meaningfully higher after exercise than before exercise in the after-menopause group(p<.05). And in changes among the groups by period, estrogen was meaningfully lower after menopause than before menopause in both before and after exercise(p<.001).
Generalizing the above study results, it is deemed that weight training programs can be provided to women before and after menopause. In addition, the above results are important for providing data to studies on bone density, reduction of female hormones and its prevention.
