This study is to look into factors influencing over job satisfaction of probation officers. The result is shown as followings.
First, probation officers see themselves positively overall in terms of job satisfaction, otherwise they don't think they are well treated in respect to promotion, wages, working conditions and amount of stress. Elements of demographic things, stress, values, ability, and both internal and external environments are used in examining relationship between related variables and job satisfaction.
The result shows that level of job satisfaction has increased as their education and position at work get higher. Also it has meaningful correlation with internal and external environments except for promotion. As to the stress factor, the higher role conflict and uncertainty level expose, the lower job satisfaction shows. In addition, devotion to the job, empowerment, specialty and the length of their service have played a positive role regarding to job satisfaction. As a result, in spite of the fact that probation officers don't feel satisfied with amount of work, promotion and wages, not external environments but value or ability factors such as devotion to the job and specialty have a great impact on job satisfaction.
Therefore, it is needed to get promotion officers to feel satisfied with their job by increasing devotion to the job and specialty and by alleviating role conflict.
