It is very much true in the Northeast Asia in that the rapid growth of the Chinese economy as well as the dynamic business of the Korea made the paradigm shift in the existing sea port hub in this region. To become the global hub in the newly emerging Northeast Asian logistics network, the efficiency of the port and its inclividual terminals are so important for the sustainable development. And thus, the comparison of the port efficiency may shed the light on the newly emerging Northeast Asian logistics network. This paper analyzes empirical result of the efficiencies in the major ports by applying generally acceptable methodology of DEA and its variant models and concludes that the scale- or supply-oriented policies should be changed with more emphasis on the governance of the port operation.
