The purpose of this research is to determine the influence range of deduced factors that are directly related to students’ academic satisfaction by its categories for improving academic accomplishment of high school student in Cheongju area.
The researching method was survey by 1,077 sample students from six different high schools in the city of Cheongju(consisting three public schools and three private schools in the area). The questionnaires in the survey had Likert styled five-point scale and was statistically analyzed by using SPSS/PC+ software.
First, when looking at the gender perspective, the result showed higher degree of academic satisfaction in male students. The female students showed relatively lower degree of academic satisfaction than the male students.
Second, in perspective of school type, private high school students showed higher degree of academic satisfaction than he student who attend public high school.
Third, depending on social and financial status of students’ home, the students from higher social and financial status showed lower degree of academic satisfaction than those of middle class family background. The students from middle class family background showed the highest degree of academic satisfaction.
Fourth, the seven elements that directly affects school’s degree of academic satisfaction can explain 44% of total degree of academic satisfaction and schools learning culture followed next.
