Music as an art form for expressing and enjoying human feelings and thoughts through the medium of sounds has profoundly influenced human life. In 2007 revised Music curriculum, evaluation is mentioned as it follows: for the evaluation learning which helps to achieve the objectives of the curriculum, various methods of assessment with a high level of reliability and validity should be used according to the nature of the Music program and to learning contents. For this goal, the use of various methods of evaluations, including performance assessment are highly recommended to be used.
This research mainly deals with the adaptation of performance assessment to music education focusing on singing, playing, and creating. In the Initial phase of the study, the meaning of performance assessment in music education was mentioned. Then, actual examples of evaluation for music activities including singing, playing, and creating was described. Finally, based on the analysis, the results and suggestions were added.
