The purpose of this study is to investigate research trends and seek a way about studies on future climate change education in elementary school through the analysis of prior studies. The detailed contents of the study are as follows. First, 22 papers about climate change education in elementary school were collected. Second, The tool for analysis was used by modifying the analysis criteria of the study about elementary environmental education for the purposes of this study.
The results of analysis of the studies are as follows. First, Every year since 2009, the number of announced papers showed a distinct downward trend in studies about climate change education in elementary school. It seems to require constant attention about the subject. Second, the papers were focused on the subject of curriculum development and content of development and application, but the studies about climate literacy, education status, theory and policy were very lacking. Third, It needed the systematic effort of nation about developing of goals, objectives, materials, programs for climate change education in elementary school. In conclusion, It’ll affect a significant effect on the student’s climate literacy.
