The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of physical education program the development of fundamental motor skill in children. Subjects were 120 boys and 120 girls 5 or 6years of age who are in Kindergarten in Yongin city. The pre and post test of physical education program were accomplished between motor performance program and play program groups.. The domains of physical education program are three, that is say, locomotion(side jump, standing long jump), manipulation (throwing for distance, flying ball catch), stability(foot balance, beam walking).Results of this study are as follows: 1. Fundamental motor skills for both boys and girls were developed by increase of age. The developmental consequences were based on difficulty of skill acquisition. Therefore, it was recommended that designing fundamental motor programs based on developmental consequence ,rather than by sex, to promote motivation. 2. The physical activity program were effective for motor skill acquisition that was analyzed by age and sex. Thus physical activities that were constructed by multivariate factors in sports and plays, rather than by a single factor were strongly recommended. 3. Motor development programs based on consequence of developmental stages should be recommended. Assessment tools for child`s fundamental motor skills should be developed to evaluate multifactors of child`s motor abilities.
