The purpose of this study is to provide kinematic data to be used for performance enhancement and making a training program. For that purpose, middleweight high school weight-lifters, including both excellent and mediocre ones, were analysed, and among physiological factors, fatigue-related variables in movements of snatch and clean and jerk were also analysed.
The subjects of this study are 7 excellent weight-lifters and 7 mediocre weight-lifters from K and D sports high schools in Gyungsangbookdo. The subjects’ weight-lifting experience is over 6 years, and excellent ones won prizes of higher than 3rd place in national competition in the last 3 years. The result of analysis of difference of change of fatigue-related variables in weight-lifting movement between excellent weight-lifters and mediocre weight-lifters is as follows.
1. Physiological changes during weight-lifting exercise
1) Blood pressure
Between excellent weight-lifters and mediocre weight-lifters, there was significant difference(p<.05) of systolic blood pressure during 3 minute break and 10 minute break in clean and jerk. Each group showed significant difference in systolic and diastolic blood between rest and movement.
2) Heart rate
There was no significant difference in heart rate between two groups.
2. Comparison of blood serum variables in weight-lifting
1) Blood lactate concentration
In terms of blood lactate concentration, there was significant difference(p<0.05) between excellent weight-lifters and mediocre weight-lifters during rest in snatch, during 3 minute break, 5 minute break, 10 minute break, 30 minute break and right after maximal exercise.
2) Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)
In terms of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), there was no significant difference between two groups in snatch and clean and jerk.
However, in clean and jerk, there was significant difference(p<.05) in both groups right after maximal exercise. In snatch, there was more significant difference(p<.01) in the mediocre group right after maximal exercise than during resting period.
3) Active enzyme creatine phosphate (CPK)
In terms of active enzyme creatine phosphate(CPK), there was no significant difference between two groups in snatch and clean and jerk. But, in snatch, there was significant difference(p<.05) among excellent weight-lifters during 3 minute break and 5 minute break, 10 minute break and 30 minute break, and among mediocre weight-lifters, there was more significant difference(p<.05) right after maximal exercise than during resting period.
From the result of analysis, it is understood that there are more variables which do not show statistically significant difference between two groups than those that do. But the excellent group show better result in various factors. And it is also understood that psychological factor and technical factor are more influential on performance than physiological factor. It is hoped that a more scientific training program for performance improvement will be developed if technical and psychological aspects are studied together.
