The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of body composition and serum lipoproteins after 12weeks aerobic training. Subjects were composed of fourteen elderly women without regular exercise habit. HRmax was determined for each subjects by administering a treadmill exercise test. The exercise intensities are decided by regression equations between %HRmax and speed(m/min). Subjects were trained during 12weeks(50%HRniax, 4 frequencies /week, 1 hour/day). Paired samples t-test was used to evaluate the difference of the pre and post training. The 0.05 level of significance was as critical level for this study. The result of this study are as follows; 1. Weight, %fat and fat were decreased and %LBM was increased after 12weeks aerobic training. 2. Systolic blood pressure and Diastolic blood pressure were decreased after 12weeks aerobic training. 3. TC, TG, FFA and LDL-C were decreased and HDL-C was increased after 12weeks aerobic training. 4. Apo A-I and C-II were increased and Apo B was decreased after 12weeks aerobic training. In conclusion, Aerobic training was shown to positive influence on body composition, and serum lipoproteins so it may help to prevent cardiovascular disease in elderly women.
