The objective of study were to examine the relationship of anaerobic power and the knee joint isokinetic strength measured by bicycle ergometer and isokinetic dynamometer between women`s national volleyball team players and junior national volleyball team players. 24 female volleyball player performed 3 time of maximal knee extension and flexion at the velocity of 180˚/sec, and peak torque, average power, endurance ratio, and Ipsi/Bi balance ratio were recorded. Maximal concentric and eccentric quadriceps and hamstring muscle strength was obtained by measuring maximal force moments (torque) during isokinetic knee extension and flexion movements. A Cybex770 dynamometer(USA) was used for the measurements. Efforts for measurement were preceded by 15 minutes of warmup and preconditioning to the testing device. The data collected was analyzed by SPSS statistical package using paired t test. The level of significance was set at 0.05. The results showed that there was significant difference between NT and JT. in extension peak torque and average power. However, JT showed more balanced ipsilateral ratio when compare with NT. No differences was observed in anaerobic power and bilateral ratio. In conclusion, it is necessary for NT to improve their hamstring muscle strength and ipsilateral ratio and thus prevent the possibilities of muscle injuries.
