This paper presents a new trapezoidal method with extra calculation of dx/dt to avoid the trapezoidal ringing phenomenon in circuit simulation. Comparison between the traditional and proposed trapezoidal methods is verified by the error assessment and the result dedicates that the new method works out and the improvement is obvious. This algorithm is meaningful to the numerical analysis in circuit simulators for solving differential algebraic equations under both linear and nonlinear circumstances.
