In this study, I investigated the educational value of grammatical knowledge and contents of school grammar in Korean language education. I contended that we have to pursue various value of grammatical knowledge expansively in Korean language education. From this point of view, students have to understand grammatical phenomena first and then acquire the basis of language use ability and desirable attitude toward their mother tongue. We have to construct and develop the contents of school grammar, the object of grammar education, so that we can realize various value of grammatical knowledge. And we must consider seriously following facts when we construct and develop the contents of school grammar; we must pursue various value of grammatical knowledge soundly and development of Korean language itself through grammar education; we must teach the typological characteristic of Korean language through grammar education; we must help students build up their language use ability substantially through grammar education.
