This paper aims to suggest a revised analysis of the Spanish nominalized infinitive. In this article we realize an analysis of two types of infinitival structures headed by a determiner in Spanish: nominal infinitives and verbal infinitives. The type of nominal infinitives accepts adjectival modification, freedom in the selection of determiners, and genitive subjects. Contrary to this nominal infinitives, verbal infinitives show restriction in the selection of determiners: they only accept definite articles as its tensed counterpart, and they do not accept demonstratives or possessives. In this paper, we suggest that the internal structures of two classes of nominalized infinitives are different: the nominal infinitives are derived from DP and this DP contains the functional head Cop(ular). On the other hand, the verbal infinitives is derived by the incorporation of the functional head D to the COMP.
