The purpose of this study is to examine relationship among evaluation attributes, cooperative effect, community spirit, and cooperative intention in the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade. Specifically, this study aims to grasp how Gwangju citizens evaluated the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade after the event, whether they had intention of cooperating with international sports events through their positive or negative feelings associated with their evaluation criteria, and which factors they felt important in evaluation attributes. The findings will contribute to preparing improved operation of international sports events such as the FINA World Championships. Gwangju citizens who resided in Gwangju and had participated in the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade were set as the study population. A convenient sampling method was used. The data of a total of 416 participants were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. The following conclusions were drawn.
First, the evaluation attributes of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade had a positive(+) effect on cooperative effect. Second, the evaluation attributes of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade had a positive(+) effect on community spirit. Third, the cooperative effect of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade had a positive(+) effect on community spirit. Fourth, the cooperative effect of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade had a positive(+) effect on cooperative intention. Fifth, the community spirit of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade had a positive(+) effect on cooperative intention. Sixth, the evaluation attributes of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade had a positive(+) effect on cooperative intention.
Accordingly, this study concluded that the evaluation attributes of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade influenced cooperative effect, community spirit, and cooperative intention, and cooperative effect and community spirit influenced cooperative intention.
