The purpose of this study is exploring the achievements, problems, and improvements about Minimum Academic Achievement Policy(MAAP) by reviewing literature on the MAAP being conducted in South Korea. The data were selected 19 literatures regarding the MAAP and uesd content analysis. As the result, the policy had achievements in ‘changing the culture of school athlete team’, ‘changing student-athletes’ perception and attitudes’, and ‘maintenance and improvement of athletic performance’. ‘the incongruity of admission system for athlete-student and the policy’ was found as a problem of introduction stage of the policy. The operational stage showed problems like ‘lack of guarantee for learning right’, ‘improper curriculum’, ‘evaluation method’, ‘violation of right to training’, ‘reverse discrimination against the general students’. Lastly, ‘improvement of curriculum for student-athletes’, ‘investigation of evaluation method’, and ‘abolition or revision of student-athlete admission policy’ were found as the improvement measure of the policy. In conclusion, it is important that the policy should not be biased against either of the student-athletes’ right to train and the nation’s right to educate. Especially, this study puts emphasis on that the opinions of the main supplier(school and athlete team supervisor) and the consumer(athlete-students) who actually carry out the policy should be reflected in policy-making.
