Confucian group activities in post-liberation period were very active and their influences were strong too. Confucian leaders who participated in organized activities of the time were mostly prominent fighters for independence or their descendents, especially related with ‘Paris Jang-so Movement’(巴里長書運動). Confucians were so trustworthy that all political parties including leftist groups tried to gain confucians’ support to their side. Kim Chang-Suk(金昌淑), the most charismatic confucian leader, kept neutrality and fought only for complete independence. Mainstream confucians held out their doctrine supporting the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea and organized Yudo-hoe(統合 儒道會總本部). But, confucian participating in anti-trusteeship movement made leftist confucian group drift away and resulted in the birth of Jeon-guk Yugyo Yeonmaeng(全國儒敎聯盟). Confucianists who participated in Yugyo Yonmaeng were mostly prominent fighters for independence and talented youth scholars of Chinese classics. They were grouped into ‘National Front for Democracy’(民主主義民族戰線) and fought against confucian mainstream. As a result, confucian separation between leftist and rightist began throughout post-liberation period. During that time, Chong Inbo(鄭寅普) was the leader of rightist confucians. He had been the champion of Choson-Hak in colonial Korea and revitalized the reform-oriented ethics of confucianism into a foundational idea for modern nationalistic movements. Throughout post-liberation period, Chong Inbo was backed up by anarchists who had fought against communists as well as Japanese colonialists. Chong Inbo and Anarchists took part in rebuilding confucianism and promoting Korean liberal democratism. Meanwhile, Kim Taejun(金台俊) was the leader of leftist confucians and youths. He had joined a secret ultra-leftist organization, Gyeongseong Communist Group(경성콤그룹) in Japanese Occupation. His attitude on confucianism was originally hostile. But, after being leftist organizer, he knew that confucian value and practices would be an important resource in order to mobilize the younger generation in a revolutionary protests against rightist confucians throughout post-liberation period. Chong Inbo and Kim Taejun stood in opposition and it was symbolic scene of confucian separation in post-liberation period.
