Individuals’ human capitals can be improved by vocational training, through which their employment can be promoted, their productivity can be improved, and their wages can be increased as well. Therefore, important roles of the vocational training are taken to make not only individuals enter the labor market and stable after their employment but also their employment conditions improved. Especially, for the disabled women, the vocational training takes such important roles that it makes them not only develop or improve their vocational competency which is potential in each of them and smoothly enter the labor market but also participate in the society as its members.
In order to increase the opportunity for the disabled women to participate in the society and create their jobs through the vocational competency improvement education, Seoul City opened The Disabled Women’s Manpower Development Center in 2012 for the first time in our country and has been running it. Besides, Seoul City is looking for the directions to set up the roles of The Disabled Women’s Manpower Development Center in several ways in order to reinforce their functions to be specialized as a talent development organization.
The main study methods in this study are the review of literature and the field research. First of all, for the review of literature, they are used including the advance research which is related to the vocational training for disabled women, the original data on the survey of the economic activities by the disabled in 2015, the findings on the survey how it is demanded to train the vocational competency development project for the disabled in 2015, etc., through which they are analyzed that what desires the disabled women in Seoul City have, what vocational training areas job seekers want to have, what employment plans for the disabled the businesses have which are located in Seoul City, what areas the vocational training is required for, etc. Centered on Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled and through the field research related to the vocational training for the disabled, it is intended to provide the educational contents for vocational training targeted to the disabled women which can be used at The Disabled Women’s Manpower Development Center in Seoul City. Also, they are included how to establish the identity and functions of The Disabled Women’s Manpower Development Center and how to reinforce their specialty. It is expected that this study can be used as the basic data to promote employment of the disabled women in Seoul City and activate their participation in the society in future.
