The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing competence of clinical practice of nursing students. The research design for this study was a descriptive survey design. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 155 nursing students in B city from September 1 to 31 October, 2017. Data were analyzed by using frequencies, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation and multiple regression. There were significant positive correlation between critical thinking and competence of clinical practice. The significant factors influencing competence of clinical practice of nursing students was critical thinking(β=.375, p<.001), conflict to patient(β=-.198, p<.01). And these factors explained 19.7% of the variance in the competence of clinical practice. In conclusion, the results of this study indicated that efforts to encourage nursing student’s critical thinking, decrease stress of clinical practice, especially in conflict with patients, and build a supportive clinical environment should be made to strengthen competence of clinical practice of the nursing students.
