Purpose: Speech intelligibility and naturalness can be the index of how functionally the person with voice disorder can communicate in daily life. In clinical aspects, they are strongly needed for self monitoring of own voice problems in both voice assessment and treatment. The purpose of this study was to find out the relatiLonship between speech intelligibility, naturalness and instrumental analysis in reading task by dysphonic speakers. Methods: Speech samples were collected from 00 speakers with voice problems by reading passages. They were diagnosed with vocal nodules, polyps, Muscle tension dysphonia, palsy. 3 kinds methods of auditory-perceptual assessment were used for intelligibility in reading task: 5-point, 7-point interval scale, and 0-100scores. G values(4 point scale) were used for voice severity in vowel phonation task. Overall speech naturalness including voice and prosody naturalness was judged with 5-point interval scales. With auditory perceptual judgments, acoustic and aerodynamic evaluation of vowel phonation were conducted. Pearson correlation r was used for the correlation between intelligibility, speech Naturalness and objective measurements in reading task. In addition Spearman Correlation r also used for the analysis of the relationship perceptual judgements, acoustic and aerodynamic evaluation. Results: There were positive significant relationship between 4 kinds of perceptual methods for intelligibility evaluation and speech naturalness test. In addtion, 4 perceptual methods of intelligibility showed a significant relationship with acoustic measures(except of SFF) and three aerodynamic measures. Discussion: More objective and functional perceptual method should be studied in various speaking enviroment.
