A study on spatial change of apparel industry in the 4th industrial revolution. Development in ages promotes to change urban industrial structures. In particular, the 4th industrial revolution in progress drives an entire change in our lives. The development of advanced technology-intensive industries increases a portion of the tertiary and fourth industries and the secondary industry, the manufacturing industry, will be influenced a lot. This paper is studying effects on the paradigm shift of the 4th industrial revolution based with these backgrounds, especially, on clothing and apparel industries. In addition, this study is focusing on Changsin-dong in Seoul, S.Korea which was the center of manufacturing industry, the biggest business of secondary industries, and there presentative Korean apparel industrial area. As the appeal industry be cameless popular, Changsin-dong went through a slump. Changsin-dong needs new concept of space to face the quick change of industrial structure inconsideration of existing urban context. This study looks for the problem and potential off falling Changsin-dong in connection with the paradigm shift of manufacturing industry in the fourth industrial revolution and the effects on Changsin-dong apparel industrial area and suggests a direction for Changsin-dong to rise as an apparel industrial area with new system on the current trends.
