The purpose of this study is to examine the social design activities of contemporary fashion designers in order to change the social prejudice to the socially and culturally marginalized groups such as the disabled, the elderly, various physical characteristics, AIDS patients, sexual minorities and races. In this study, a literature study was conducted from the year 2000 to 2015 with the spread and popularity of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The results of this study are as follows; First, social design focuses on the organic relationship between society and design and emphasizes the social reform effect of design that solves social problems and phenomena by design. In this concept, all activities including the design, planning, and creation of various artifacts including products were totally included. Second, it appeared as a fashion show performance modeled on people with disabilities, the elderly, and people with various physical characteristics. Third, slogan t-shirts with a message to awaken awareness about AIDS and skin cancer appeared. Fourth, campaigns were held to convey messages that embraced people with special stories and diverse backgrounds such as sex minorities, races, countries, religions, and messages acknowledging their diversity. These social design activities conveyed the warmth of accepting and embracing the marginalized beyond all prejudices.
