In Korean language education the use of Korean Relative honorification is quite significant factor for actual communication. However existing relative honorific system is not appropriate for practical language education as it does not reflect actual language use patterns. In this reason this study looks into four issues about Korean Relative honorification and suggests some efficient way for setting the direction of relative honorific system for Korean language education. First, it would be proper to consider only ‘hasipsio’ style as formal style and it is good to take genre approach in describing ‘hasipsio’ style. Second, ‘hasipsio’ style and ‘haeyo’ style differ from its formality not from the degree of politeness. Meanwhile between ‘haera’ and ‘hae’ style there is little difference in formality and the degree of politeness. Third, ‘hao’ and ‘hage’ style is efficient to teach as grammar for understanding not for expression because they are not widely used in everyday life. Finally honorific neutral style ‘hara’ should be taught in education for its use is generally found in writing. Considering educational efficiency ‘hara’ style could be presented as one of the usages of ‘haera’ style but in such a case the fact that imperative sentence ending of ‘hara’ style is different from ‘haera’ ought to be inform to student.
