PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of full spectrum and low intensity aerobic exercise on plasma lipid in rats. Aged 4 weeks. METHODS: Male sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly assigned into four groups (n=9, in each group), control group (CG), exercise group (EG), full spectrum group (IG), and full spectrum+exercise group(EIG). Rats in EG were subjected to treadmill exercise (5 day/week, 30 min/day), IG rats exposure (5 days/week, 30 min/day, 10,000 Lux), EIG rats subjected to treadmill exercise in combination with exposure, and CG rats reminded sedentary over four weeks period. RESULTS: TC level was CG 131.71 mg/dL, EG 125.42 mg/dL, IG 126.22 mg/dL, EIG 114.50 mg/dL, there were significant differences among (F=5.139, p=.007). As a post-hoc result, CG, EG, IG, and EIG showed that a significant difference. TG level was CG 77.86 mg/ dL, EG 52.86 mg/dL, IG 65.43 mg/dL, EIG 58.75 mg/dL, there were significant differences among (F=3.317, p=.043). As a post-hoc result, CG, IG, and EG, EIG showed that a significant difference. HDL-C level was CG 84.57 mg/dL, EG 82.00 mg/dL, IG 82.14 mg/dL, EIG 77.63 mg/dL, there were not significant differences among (F=1.634, p=.207). LDL-C level was CG 31.57 mg/dL, EG 32.86 mg/ dL, IG 31.00 mg/dL, EIG 25.13 mg/dL, there were significant differences among (F=3.762, p=.023). As a post-hoc result, CG, EG, IG and EIG showed that a significant difference. CONCLUSIONS: It is concluded that (a) TC level was significantly reduced only in the EIG, (b) TG level was significantly reduced EG and EIG (c) HDL-C level was not statistically significant change, (d) LDL-C level was significantly reduced only in the EIG (F=3.762, p=.023).
