In this paper, we researched 1,300 college students and ordinary people living in metropolitan areas of Korea, China, and Japan. We assessed whether or not they can share the following things in accordance with the degree of intimacy relation: (1) emotional issues such as face, joy, anger, sorrow, happiness and personal worries; (2) food such as ramen noodles or water of PET bottles; and (3) a space like a hotel room while traveling abroad. As a result, the percentage of respondents who said they could share emotions, food, space, etc. with their close friends had a great deal of difference in sharing consciousness due to close relations and unfriendly relations between Korea, China, and Japan. Nevertheless, the percentage of respondents who said that Koreans can share with unfamiliar people is around 40%, indicating that they have the least number of intimacy degree compared to Chinese or Japanese people, which are around 10%. On the other hand, 31.7% of Japanese respondents said that they could eat ramen noodles or drink the water of PET bottles with a friendly person, showing a remarkable difference from the other two countries. This was 89.5% for the ordinary Korean and 88.0% for ordinary Chinese. Especially, ordinary Japanese women’s consciousness of sharing with other people was remarkably low.
