]From the 17th King Naemul, King Kim clan had continued to succeed to the crown, but the kings' clan was changed to King, Park clan when the 53rd King Shindeok and next kings, Gyeongmyeong and Gyeongae reigned. This thesis proved the background of King Parks' crowning, who had reigned during three generations.The age of King Parks clan at the end of Shilla, was the time of political turbulence and the principle of the Bone-Rank Status System was broken down, which had kept on Shilla Dynasty. And it was also the period of bringing about the dislocation of the ruler classes and they were divided into two groups and conflicted each other: those who favored later Baekje and those who supported Taebong. It caused the decline of kings' power extremely and Shilla confronted a critical crisis, because later Baekje and Taebong which rose at the West and North of Shilla invaded it and occupied a lot of its territory. In order to overcome such a national crisis, Shilla made an alliance with newly-risen Goryeo. But later Baekje invaded Shilla capital and killed King Gyeongae, which ended the reign of King Park clan. Trying to overview from lots of views the circumstances in which Shilla fell down, and analyzing deeply the reign of King Park clan which lasted about 30 years, this thesis is expected to contribute a little to the learning academic field.(Daegu University/mslee1@daegu.ac.kr)
