The status of dancing performance in Korea has currently expanded but in terms of a) introduction of foreign artists, b) financial structure of art organizations, c) art education, d) spectators support, dancing performance has not played a great role in the culture industry. In an attempt to provide activating strategies for dancing performance, this study was initiated to examine the current status and levels of recognition in dancing performance industry. Accordingly, following results were derived from this study. First, participants had high levels of interest in watching dancing performance. They were mainly recommended by dancing players to watch the performance. The major decision making factors included both performance contents and players. Second, participants expected that dancing performance would be an important part of the culture industry. They also thought of public dancing as the genre that had a great opportunity to develop in the culture industry. In addition, they recognized that for dancing performance to be more activated, a variety of public relations efforts should be improved. Third, an essential sector in the culture industry, the dancing performance will be expected to contribute to regional development and economic activation.
