This study focused on Christian children and their experiences of child abuse and neglect. It first attempted to find out the extent of Christian children’s experience of child abuse and neglect, and then how child abuse and neglect affect self-esteem, utilizing the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) to collect data. The results showed that 15.6% of Christian children experienced child abuse and 10.9% experienced neglect among the participants. Christian children who are abused and neglected had significantly lower self-esteem than non-abused or non-neglected children. Anyone who works closely with children should be aware that Christian children are also victims of child abuse and neglect. This requires increased sensitivity to the problem of child abuse at an individual, community, and policy level.
