Recent changes in military system, such as China"s strengthening of military power and the change of military structure, the re-establishment of Japan"s US-Japan alliance, and the strengthening of the integrated operation of the Self-Defense Forces, are more obvious than ever. The purpose of this study is to analyze the change of the military system in China and Japan at the level that changes the regional security system and evaluate the nature and direction of the change. As a result of analyzing the change of military system in China and Japan as essential structure of Barry Buzan"s regional security complex, the distribution structure of power can be regarded as an "internal transformation" in the structure of China and Japan, in the view of competition structure between China and the US-Japan alliance, it is regarded as "maintenance of the status quo". And the amity-enmity pattern is located between the "regional dispute formation" and the "security regime" in the spectrum of various degrees of amity and enmity, and has a hostile direction. In evaluating this, the Northeast Asian security complexes are deepening in the imbalance of military power between China and Japan in the overall balance of power. And new Cold War structure is formed and confrontation is intensifying. And it was analyzed that element of the world system level of US and Chinese power competition act strongly.
