In this study, female college students in their 20s having surgical or non-surgical cosmetic operations were examined to identify their level of interest in appearance and the appearance pursuance groups were made grouped based on level of interest on appearance, and the difference of awareness on cosmetic operation per group and actual cosmetic plastic surgery behavior were identified through empirical analysis. Data were collected using questionnaires. This study excludes female college students included in the preliminary studies and was carried out from March 21 to March 30, 2018. A total of 309 copies were used for the final analysis. SPSS for Windows 21.0 was used for analyzing the data and to verify the research problem, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, one-way ANOVA, and follow-up analysis using Duncan-test was carried out, while conducting cross-analysis and the non-hierarchial clustering method of K-means. First, interest level on appearance are categorized into the three factors of self-consciousness, self expression and social achievement. Grouping according to level of interest on appearance was categorized into the self-expression pursuing groups, selfconsciousness pursuing groups and social achievement pursuing groups. Second, it was found that there was statistically significant difference (p<0.001) for the cosmetic operation perception among the groups categorized by interest level on appearance. Third, the difference of cosmetic operation behavior and cosmetic operation motivation according to interest level on appearance was not at a significant level and it was found that cosmetic operation information source had statistically significant differences (p<.05).
