In this study, the current state of Japanese language and culture education for Korean high school students was examined with regard to the technical content of textbooks and the language and culture related questions of the SUNEUNG. The summary of the results is as follows.
First, comparing the technical cases of each textbook, it can be seen that various materials are explained in detail except the G textbook, and in most textbooks, a corner for introducing language behavior culture and nonverbal behavior culture is explained. It was found that the emphasis was placed on language and culture education. By type, verbal behavior deals with the use of ‘すみません" in all textbooks, and besides it, there are many descriptions of refusal expressions, greetings, and gears. In nonverbal behaviors, technology was the most followed, followed by distance to the opponent, hand gestures, and gestures.
Second, analyzing the results of the SUNEUNG in the last four years, more than one question related to language and culture is asked each time, and the material is also used in various ways. The language and culture questions on the four year tests were 19 questions, which accounted for 31.7% of the cultural area. The material of the questions in question has many expressions that express the expressive characteristics of Japanese, and it is understood that there are many contents that compare and express the expressive characteristics of Korean and Japanese through the misuse cases that are easy to appear to Korean native speakers.
