The purpose of this study is to find out the mediating effect of job engagement and provide implications in the relationship between TMX and self-efficacy perceived by the cuisine employees in the deluxe hotel. For the study, 307 out of the 320 questionnaires were used as valid samples. After establishing hypotheses, we examined the effect relationship between variables through factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. The analysis result showed that TMX had a significant effect on job engagement (concentration, vitality) as well as self-efficacy.
Job engagement (concentration, vitality) was also found to have a significant relationship with self-efficacy. In the relationship of community spirit and self-efficacy, which are TMX sub-factors, job engagement was found to play a partial mediating role while trust and respect were found to play a full mediating role in self-efficacy. Also in the relationship of community spirit and self-efficacy, it was found that job engagement (vitality) plays a partial mediating role, and trust and respect play a full mediating role in self-efficacy, so hypothesis 1, hypothesis 2, and hypothesis 3 were adopted, and hypothesis 4 was partially adopted.
