This article presents the need for introduction of doping tests in university entrance examination of sport-related departments by describing the prevalence of doping among student athletes and by examining cases of doping tests that have been implemented in the process to hire government officers. Research reported that some high school pupils use illegal performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) to pass competitive physical fitness tests that are typically employed for student recruitment in sport-related departments. While doping tests for applicants preparing to become government employees including police officers, firefighters, and prison officers have been implemented since 2015, however, no college employs doping tests for physical fitness measures, a primary component for admission in sport-related departments. Scholarly discussion about doping issues with regard to required physical fitness tests is timely, particularly because there have been growing concerns regarding the use of illegal PEDs among students applying these departments. Therefore, we propose the following to establish fair college environments in the process of admission for these departments. First, random doping tests for candidates who have passed physical fitness tests are needed to establish fair and ethical college environments. Second, drug education for student athletes must be promoted for them to compete in fair and safe settings. Future research should investigate in-depth responses of those from sport-related departments who have been previously exposed to doping.
