Cellular oxidative stress has been implicated in a variety of neurode-generative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease. Carica papaya leaves have been used for traditional treatment of dengue fever and contains various phytochemicals with antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. Therefore, we investigate the underlying mechanisms involved in the protective effects of Papaya leaf, which is cultivated in Jeju, on the H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>-induced cytotoxicity in SH-SY5Y human neuronal cells.
