Rapid measurement of the molecular weight of a polymer within a few seconds by simple and compact instruments is a challenging task both in the scientific and industrial community. Until now, the molecular weight of a polymer has been determined using the viscosity method (Ostwald, Cannon-Fenske, and Ubbelohde), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, static light scattering (SLC) and other methods.
