Single cell RNA sequencing illustrates individual cells with thousands of gene expression, which allows dissection of heterogeneous cell populations in complex tissues. Thus it is a powerful technique to study cellular landscape in tissues providing high-resolution criteria for health and disease. Cancer is a disease of genomic instability and tumor heterogeneity has been pointed as the major mechanism inducing treat-ment resistance of molecular targeted therapies.
