This study investigated the effect of Manila clam(Ruditapes philippinarum) seed production using the Down-Welling System as a method for stable seed supply and demand against the problem of reduction of Manila clam resources.
The maturity of the clam was investigated in three tidal flats in Gyeonggi-do(Ansan city(2), Hwaseong city(1)) for the mother clam used for the production of clam seeds.
As a result, in June 2020, a sufficiently mature mother clam was secured in Gyeonggi-do tidal flats and used as a mother clam for seed production.
The spawning stimulation method used the water temperature raising and the exposure method, and as a result, 200 million fertilized eggs were produced.
After 24 hours, they transformed into D-shaped larva, and the survival rate was 80% with 160 million inds.
