Myocardial infarction (MI) is frequent and severe manifestation of ischemic heart disease. Post-MI activated fibroblasts increase their motility and migrate into the lesion. The frequent outcome of these processes is adverse cardiac remodeling and dysfunction, ultimately leading to heart failure (1). Dohongsamul-tang (桃紅四物湯, DHT), which commonly was used to for relieve women"s irregular menses disorder, and is also used to treat immunological disorders, migraine, and cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and angina (2-3). The present study investigates the effect of DHT on MI injury. DHT was initially administered post occlusion, followed was administered for 8 weeks. To simulate the clinical settings of MI followed by therapy, I employed a rat model of left anterior descending artery occlusion for 8 weeks following.
