In this study, the research and development (R＆D) expenditure in the field of the foodborne virus by Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety was analyzed to suggest post-COVID19 investment strategies in microbiological fields. Using published documents in the R＆D management system, all projects performed during 2000-2019 (n=5,212) were categorized and analyzed by research scope and budgets. Projects on microbiological safety were 312 cases and virus R＆D projects were 37 cases among them.
