2019년 말부터 시작된 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(coronavirus disease 2019, COVID-19)의 세계적 유행은 현재 진행형이며, 변이형바이러스에 의해 2021년 7월 현재 국내에서 연일 최다 확진자가 갱신되고 있다. 백신은 인류 역사에서 많은 감염증을 효과적으로 억제했고, COVID-19 역시 예방과 중증ㆍ사망 감소를 위해 백신의 도입과 보급이 필수적이다. 본고를 통해 현재 우리나라에서 사용하고있는 코로나19 백신 4종의 유효성과 안전성에 관한 과학적인 정보를제공하고, 진료현장에서 접하는 다양한 대상군에서의 코로나19 백신 사용에 대한 고려사항을 살펴보고자 한다.
