This study aims to suggest the knowledge education system of dance literacy. Based on previous studies on dance literacy, it tries to reestablish the meaning of dance literacy and suggest the contents system of dance literacy as follows. It can be suggested that to analyze the meaning of dance literacy which is an act of social practice according to historical conditions and is a cultural phenomenon that occurs differently depending on value, attitude, and awareness and to learn dance literacy through the way of learning such as thinking, exploring, and communicating through dance is a way to form the understanding through the experience and education in real life. Dance literacy as the transmission of culture should be based on the bond between inherited dance and local community, namely, local culture, and expand the exploration about inherited art in local communities, its relationship with art works, the relationship between nature and art, and the relationship between nature and human. So an approach should be made to dance literacy as inherited culture, so that the artistic, formative, and natural environment of local communities can be fully studied and utilized. Dance literacy approached as the study of media should be based on the understanding of the media of the work in order to understand dance that varies depending on the ways of delivery of the media, and the meaning of expressing and reading through media is that the intention one hopes to convey can be delivered through and by the media.
