Compared with the results in 2012-2020, the papers published in 2020-21 did not stand out in terms of special issues, the number of papers, and research subjects. There are cases in which the papers used new materials or dealt with uncommon topics, giving them a fresh feeling, but it can be said that these two years were calm and ordinary.
Even in calm and ordinary times, researchers’ brains work actively and research develops. These research results are gathered to form a single gesture. That gesture was saying that when we talked about the years between 1840 and 1911 the modern era was pushed aside and the dynasty came to mind. Studies on the traditional themes were rare. The vacancy was filled with various other themes.
What does it mean that there were many articles looking at and analyzing 1840-1911 from the point of view of the dynasty rather than modern times? This indicates considering that the Qing Dynasty was an important factor in understanding the era. Now, it is time to discuss classifying studies of 1840-1911 as part of the dynasty rather than that of modern history.
