The purpose of this study is to compare the differences in FMS and Y-balance between pitchers and fielders in baseball. A total of 20 baseball players (pitchers: 10, fielders: 10) who are active status as collegiate athletes were recruited from Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. Independent t-tests were used to verify the statistical differences between pitchers and fielders. The significance level was set at α<.05. As a result of this study, there was a significant difference in in-line lunge and shoulder mobility (p<.05). Although there was no significant difference in UQ-YBT, pitchers showed 2~4% higher score for the non-dominant arm compared to the dominant arm in three directions. In other words, the overall score of the pitchers showed an imbalance between the dominant arm and the non-dominant arm. The difference in the scores of the FMS was not large, but the average of the total scores was 15 to 16 points. Since a score of 14 or less increases the incidence of injury, functional movement seems to need improvement. It seems that FMS training is needed to improve functional movement. In particular, baseball players with high upper extremity injuries can manage left-right imbalance through UQ-YBT, so systematic management for each individual player will be possible.
