Revolution is a keyword that penetrates the life and works of Mayakovsky. He had lived through a period of cataclysmic Revolution and the theme of Revolution is reflected in his entire works, as much of his works have been dedicated to the October Revolution. The Revolution as a political event served as a turning point in the life and works of Mayakovsky. In the pre-revolutionary period, Mayakovsky actively participated in Futurism through various experiments on totally new poetic form. In the post-revolutionary period, on the other hand, his work is devoted to the agitation poetry and becomes more political. Thus, both extreme evaluations of Mayakovsky's works have been constantly varied by political circumstances and times. In this paper, I will examine the implications of the Revolution in Mayakovsky's life and works as a whole, and I will analyze how the Revolution as a political meaning conflicts and combines with the revolution of art in his works by focusing on the process of Mayakovsky’s creative activity - from the pre-revolutionary Futurism to the Kom-fut after the Revolution.
